Are You Up for The Challenge???New Nonpareils!! Photo added!

I have a bunch of Nonpareils for you if you answer this poser honestly. I thought long and hard and wanted opinions on something I hate doing-shopping at the mall. Recently when my son got married, I had to shop for some suitable clothing. I think it's been years and years since I went into the "Valley" and I put it off until the last minute. I was hyperventilating and breaking out in a cold sweat and it was not pretty. I hate clothing shopping most of anything I can spend money on.

So here is my poser for this time-no solitary confinement on a deserted island this time . You must post your answer here on this thread only-and follow the rules. Honesty and silliness count-and the more fun we have the more the booty grows. I will post a photo tomorrow as I decide on the main course-but it's gonna be a party because you are all going shopping-in a cyber mall!!!

Here is the deal. I am giving you a Visa cash card with 1000.00 to spend in one day. You may purchase anything at the mall that you can wear, it can be one thing (are you lusting after a designer dress?) or several things or multiples of the same thing-no one can have too many jeans. It cannot be something to eat (I don't have x-ray vision) and it cannot be something to read because I won't be able to see your brain dressed up looking smart. I want to "see" you all purdied up and ready for Glamour Magazine. There are only two things excluded-no fur and no leather. Now, go shopping and report back here what you bought! Links to photos are okay too!

I will chose a random entry as the winner of the nonpareils using http://www.random.org/ so everyone has a chance to win and I will post a photo tomorrow of the fun stuff you will get-sorry, no real Visa cash card tho. The random drawing will be on Saturday July 7th at 11:59 PM. I am going to the ballet that night. I am so excited as I have never seen Baryshnikov live. He is still a sexy guy at 58. Yum!!!

  1. Am I the first to comment?? $1,000 on clothes? I wouldn't probably ever do that, but since we're dreaming here..... I would buy a very pretty dress for my son's wedding in August along with some fancy shoes. And if there were money left over....I would buy stamps??

Oh my...clothes are my least favorite thing to buy too...hmmm...would I have to try them on in a virtual dressing room? Can I visit a magic spa first...maybe one of those TV makeovers where I get to lose weight, get my hair done, get my feet purdied up FIRST? Okay...then I think I'd buy SHORTS!!! Can I get designer shorts? It's getting HOT in Oregon (hot to me is 80!!!) and I think I only have one pair of ugly khaki shorts...lots of capris. But, hey, if I can do the cyber makeover, I'd love to wear more shorts...in cyberspace!!!

  6. A visa in my name with 1,000 to spend on lil ol me. Well, off to shop I go. Immediately I went to http://www.edressme.com/wedding-guest-dresses.html and purchased this cute little number in white & block (the white looks great with my tan). It's the white crochet white halter dress by Sue Wong & since it's on sale for $210.00, I was able to get 2 of them. I still have money to spend. Of course, I'd need the shoes, purse and a little bling to go along with my new dress(es). May as well splurge on a makeover too. Just hope I have some money left over to buy a few other dresses from this site. Boy do I love a SALE. Thanks for a fun shopping spree!

  7. Hi! I am a frugal person, so I rarely buy clothes. I have clothes in my closet that are at least 15 years old that I still wear. So with the money, I would just replace my wardrobe with a new one. Shirts, sweaters, jeans, shorts, even new bras and underwear. Gosh, I need to go shopping!

  8. Oh I love to shop, just not for clothes. $1,000?? I'd go to a department store, and get someone to just keep bringing dresses in until I found one that was flattering. Then shoes and definitely a purse (Love them!!). Then another dress so I could do a change of clothing for the reception. This dress would need bling for dancing! And with whatever is left on the Visa - stamps!!!

  9. I lust after handbags. Something cute and fun but big enough to hold all of my stuff. For a 1000 bucks a lovely designer one would satisfy my craving.

I would buy lots of panties and bras! Next I would have to go buy some trendy casual clothes. Next stop would be a beautiful dress that I could wear barefoot (like on a cyber beach) because most shoes are made of leather, can't get those. If I had any money left over I would get some jewelry and something pretty to wear in my hair.

  11. Oh fun, let's see...first we go for clothes, I'm not a dress wearer and don't do fancy so lets stick with slax, tops, shorts. The more comfy the better. Next we go for pretties, lots of pretty nightgowns, robe and throw in a pretty to excite the hubby too. Then I would get some sox, undies, bras, etc. Gotta have the basics. No shoes, I hate shoes! Then off to the jewelry area to lots of earring and bracelets.

  12. I would buy a few great items rather than a whole bunch of things...

    Here's my list...

http://www.chantelle.com/phpscripts/lines.php4?mnf_id=13 (Best bras ever...from France and about ~150.00 each.)

And, if I was being real crazy, I would get a right-hand ring...maybe like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Forzieri-White-Gold-Diamond-Right/dp/B000E60BR2/ref=sr_1_66/103-0059978-8022276?ie=UTF8&s=jewelry&qid=1183487426&sr=1-66

  13. Oh my! what fun! First stop ... coldwater creek, for some GREAT outfits to wear to the office! Then ... onto something utilitarian like Eddie Bauer or L.L. Bean, I'm thinking of going to Alaska and I need cold weather clothes! (I'm in FL!)

I am the type that goes out clothes shopping for me and I buy for the kids instead. So honestly here is what I would do I would buy myself a couple of new bras from Lazenza, go across to a sports shop get a new pair of Adais sweat pant. Then with the rest of the money I would go to the nearest kids store and buy clothes and donate them to Salvation army or Battered mothers organization. What do I need 1000 dollars worth of clothes for??

  15. FUN! $1,000 on clothes. Okay, I'd get some Seven Jeans, a Kate Spade purse, some Marc Jacobs clothes and a Juicy Couture suit. Just to name a few off the top of my head.

  16. OOH, This sounds like fun, well, I would never do this (rather buy stamps, paper, etc) but here goes. First I would get a virtual makeover, and I mean ALL over, cuz if I'm gonna be trying on clothes, even virtually, I need this. (maybe they can trim off a few pounds, too. LOL) Then off to shop at Macy's and Dillard's for some lingerie, to make me feel special, then a nice comfy slacks and top for a casual night out and then a smashing dress that makes even me look good. Finish (if there is anything left) with some new summer makeup, shoes and a purse.

  17. Here's what I would buy with $1000...

-a belt (made out of rubber stamps)
    - earrings (made out of rubber stamps)
-shoes (made out of rubber stamps)
-a hat (made out of rubber stamps)
-pants (made out of rubber stamps)
-blouse (made out of rubber stamps)
-hand bag (made out of rubber stamps)

Wouldn't I look pretty all dressed in stamps? :-)

Holy Moses! Just what I've been waiting for. Enough money to buy some girlie underwear. Just give me something that looks sexy and feels good. I don't ask for much...How about a bra that doesn't wad up under my arms - something to lift these puppies proudly BUT NO WIRE. Then, after I spent half on undies I would buy just about anything because...I WILL BE COMFORTABLE for the first time in about 50 lbs!!

I am with you Jan. I think the LAST time I was at a mall was when I went to take the grandson to see Santa. Needless to say it was even WORSE because of the holidays.. you could hardly move and the line was over an HOUR long.
AND Needless to say.... we didn't stay. YIKERS
Ok, so what would I buy. Some jeans and tops, new mocs, maybe a coat, and then I would spend the rest on my grandson, his future sis or brother, and my daughter and son-in-law. Ok so I could wear SOME of the things not specifically for me... but HEY... gotta share, RIGHT? : )

  20. OK, If you gave me $1000 to buy clothes, believe it or not I would buy for someone else. I would buy as many clothes as I could and donate them to a women's shelter. I know it sounds cheesy, but I have all the clothes I need, and their are many out there that need some.

  21. vsjI'm not a big fan of shopping, so I'd get in and out of the mall as quickly as possible. $1000 ought to buy about a ten-year supply of blue jeans at the work wear store, right?

Wow, I haven't been shopping in a LONG time...I'd start at Coldwater Creek for two long, romantic flowing dance skirts, matching top, earrings and necklace. Then I'd go to Victoria's Secret for bras, Christopher & Banks for some pants/jeans, and top it off at Target or Fred Meyer for a collection of basic t-shirts in every color. Then I'd be set for another 5 years! Thanks for offering blog candy and the fun game.

  23. Well, this is hard 'cuz I would want to go to several places for several things. FIRST, I would have to buy a Coach bag that I love. After that a couple of casual, fun, summer outfits. Long shorts, t shirts, and some fun summer sandals. After which I would go to the athletic department and find a couple of new workout outfits and get some shoes that are just for me!!! That would probably be about half the amount ('cuz you gotta shop the sales) I would go get stuff for my kiddos and DH.

Yep, that would be TONS of fun!

  24. Okay, I'm so into this game!

I would hit Coach first, then I'd go to Zappos because I can never have enough shoes. Then I'd still go to Kohls because I love a good bargain.

Then I'd feel really guilty and spend the rest of the money on clothes for other people. :)

Hmmmm.....shoes. Just shoes. Oh, and good underwear. I know that sounds strange but I just have such a hard time spending lots of $$ on those!

  26. Thank you, again, Jan for this wonderful candy! The dress I ended up getting for my son's wedding was only $20!! Not even close to the $1,000!
